i want to know that, can a computer science engineer student appear the exam of upsc,
please give the information about this

yes a computer science student is eligible for aapearing upse exam. But he have a graduated degree is required

you sure can appear for all the upsc exam if you have an graduation degree and pass the fitness and age limits,
but if you are trying for ies exam then there is no paper for computer science

Yes you can appear in the following UPSC Exams:

1. UPSC Civil Services Exam: Eligibility is a graduation degree in any field and age limit is 21-30 years
2. UPSC Engineering Services Exam: Eligibility is a degree in engineering and age limit is 21-30 years.
3. CDS Exam: Eligibility is graduation in any field and maximum age limit is 24 years.
4. CPF Exam: Eligibility is graduation in any field and maximum age limit is 25 years.

Dear friend,

There is no option subject as Computer Science, so you
can not take computer science as an optional subject while
applying for UPSC examination.
You have to select any other subject of choice. I would suggest you to
select the subject related to CS or mathematics or a subject which interests
you. Such a subject will be best for you for the examination.

any graduate can appear for the CDS exam. As You are a computer engineer, you are also eligible to appear in the CDS exam.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for UPSC civil services exam:
Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

yes acomputer science student is appeafor upsc exam but not for ies(upsc),he is eligibile for ias,ips,scra or many other,
but he can not give the ies exam wwhich is under upsc.

Eligibility For UPSC Examination:

1: you must hold a degree of any of recognized Universities.

Age:you should be age of 21 years and must not more than age of 30 years on 1st August, 2011

Exam Process:There are two stages of the examination.

Stage I:The Preliminary Examination of objective type for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and

Stage II:The Main Examination is of Written test and then Personal Interview for the final selection of candidates for the various posts.

The main exam is yet to be held in October or November, 2011.
FEE :

(a) Candidates applying Online are required to pay Rs.50/- in any Branch of SBI by Cash or by Visa or Master Credit or Debit Card.
