SSC i.e. Staff Selection Commission conducts junior Hindi translator and Hindi Pradhyapak examination. Hindi Translators is for Sub ordinate offices and Hindi pradhyapak is for central Hindi training institute. If you wish to apply for the examination you must meet certain eligibility criteria.

As you have asked whether an English (hons) student can apply for junior Hindi translator or not, therefore let’s check the educational qualification under Junior Hindi translator (in Subordinate offices)

Candidate must have master’s degree in English or Hindi with Hindi or English as compulsory or elective subject at degree level from recognized university.

You also must have a bachelor’s degree from recognized university with Hindi and English as main subjects.

Also candidates those who have passed B.A(hons) in English or Hindi with Hindi or English as subject are also eligible for Junior Hindi Translator. These candidates should also ensure that they have studied their degree in English and Hindi as main subjects.
