I have secured 49% marks in MA 1st semester due to some personal reason.And i am sure about securing 55% marks above in next semesters.Now the question is that can i appear in ugc NET exam 2012?

NET(National Eligibility Test) Exam is conducted by UGC.
It is conducted for Lecturership and Junior Research Fellowship(JRF).
It is held Twice a year i.e.JUNE and DEC for all candidates every year.
You are eligible to apply to UGC NET Exams if your aggregate percentage
of 1yr and 2nd yr of M.A. is 55%.
So it does not matter if you have scored 49% in 1st semester of M.A.
You can work hard and score more in all the coming semesters to pass
your P.G. Degree with atleast 55% to be eligible for NET.

Educational Qualifications for the UGC-NET exams is:
Post Graduation pass
Minimum 55% marks in Post Graduation for the General and OBC candidates
Minimum 50% marks for the SC/ST candidates

Age Limit :
JRF-21-28yrs
Lecturership-No age bar

Candidates successful in the NET JRF Exams have to join the P.HD Course within 2yrs
and UGC pays the stipend during this time to candidates.
