Re: Can I apply for NET in both JRF and Lecturership at an age of 33+?
Unless you belong to Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribe, you can only apply for the College Lectureship. The maximum age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years for General students.
There is 3 years relaxation for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST. Which means that only Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribe candidate is eligible for JRF till the age of 33 years. After which you can only apply for National Eligibility Test to become college lecturer. If you have crossed the age of 33 years then I am afraid that lectureship is the only option for you. You can apply for the National Eligibility Test which will be conducted in June 2013. After which the next entrance exam will be conducted in December. Eligibility 1. Candidate should be Indian citizen. 2. Post graduation degree in any stream. 3. Must have completed post graduation from college affiliated with UGC. 4. The minimum marks to have obtained in post graduation is 55 percent. 5. SC/ST candidates need 50 percent marks. 6. Final year students in PG course can also apply. 7. Your NET subject should be relevant to post graduation course. 8. There is no limit for attempts. 9. Age limit for JRF is 28 years. 10. up to 3 years relaxation for OBC. 11. up to 5 years relaxation for SC/ST. 12. There is no upper age limit if applying for College Lectureship. |

Re: Can I apply for NET in both JRF and Lecturership at an age of 33+?
If your age is 33 years then you can’t apply for JRF but you can apply for Lecturership.
For JRF the maximum age required is 28 years. So you can apply for UGC NET exam but you will be only eligible for Lecturership. UGC NET is for Post Graduates student who wish to become lecturer in government colleges. Junior Research Fellowships are also awarded on the basis of the UGC NET scorecard. Those who wish to join Research in their respective field can apply for JRF with NET scorecard if they are below the age of 28 years. There is no age limit for Lecturership in government colleges if you are NET qualified. For more information visit http://www.ugcnetonline.in |

Re: Can I apply for NET in both JRF and Lecturership at an age of 33+?
Dear Friend ,
sorry to say but you cannot apply for NET Exam for both JRF and Lectureship if your age is 33+ years. This is because the age limit for the JRF is just 21-28 years. However you can apply for the post of lectureship as for this post there is no age bar. Also , you must have completed your post graduation in any stream from any recognized college / university with a minimum of 55% marks. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |
