yes you can. Apply to the IIT's Mechanical engineerign has been listed in the minimum eligibility criteria.
however you must take note that you must have 60 % minimum in graduation (engg) to be eligible to be considered.(for sc/st 55%) Have a look at the IITB notification attached here. The same holds true for all the IITs visit their respective sites.www.aero.iitb.ac.in/ www.iitm.ac.in/aedept you can navigate to sites of other IITs from links in any IIts site. wishes |

Yes, u can do M.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering even if u have done your B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. But to be honest u have to give and get selected for the post graduate degree by giving the respective exams like "GATE" etc. Also u need to be fully prepared for the questions based on the Aeronautical Engineering because the questions will be purely asked on that subject of Aeronautics which u have to answer in the exam. There u might be in trouble while answering the questions since u have done B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and not in Aeronautical Engineering. For this reason u need to be absolutely well brushed up for the M.Tech exam on your desired subject ie,Aeronautical Engineering. So start preparing harded, press the accelerator and good luck for your exam and remember, base knowledge is the most important ands since u have done B.Tech in a subject which is the core of Aeronautical Engineering so i'm confident that u will be through.

Dear friend
Yes you can do M.Tech in aeronautical engineering even if you are a mechanical engineer from a few colleges. But you will have to qualify the entrance exam with aeronautical engineering as prime paper. If you manage to get a good GATE score with AE(Aeronautical engineering) as subject you may get admission in M.Tech in some IITs and NITs even with mechanical background. You can visit the following page of IIT Madras site to get some idea- apm.iitm.ac.in/acad_table.html Thank you |

HI...
yeah you can do M.tech in aeronautical engineering even if you have don graduation in mechanical engineering ,but for that you have to qualify the GATE exam for aeronautical engineering ,you can take coaching and then write ,at least you may have some chances to qualify the exam,if you don't qualify the exam you can not do m.tech in aeronautical engineering ,also let me inform you that its better to do m.tech from good colleges like iits for which you have to do really well in the gate exam because the cut off scores are very high for iits all the best |
