Can I do phd without 55% in MA or MCom or MSc

you can not satisfy that what phd you want to do. but there is no requirment of 55% marks in post graduation in some streams.

According to my knowledge, you cannot eligible for P.hd. Because you have scored less than 55% of marks in your Master degree course.

But, for P.hd, you have to scored atleast 55% marks. So, if you are general candidate, then 55% marks in master degree is compolsory. And for SC/ST 50% marks is necessary, if they are interested to do P.hd.

So, sorry, because you are not eligible for P.hd courses.............

there are some university and open university like IGNOU which is offer the Phd with minimum 55% in graduation or post graduation but some university do not offer Phd with this percentage so you can do Phd.

here's post graduate degree eligibility criteria........

At least 55% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC/ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree.

according to this criteria you are not eligible candidate until you are not a general candidate.

but i think you may be eligible for post graduate diploma like(pgdm)

here's eligibility criteria
To be eligible for admission to the PGDM Program, the participants must posses a Bachelors degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent in any discipline, recognized by the Association of Indian Universities for admission to post-graduate programs. The bachelors' degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years education after completing higher secondary schooling under the 10+2 system or equivalent. Candidates appearing in the final year of their bachelor's degree or equivalent are also eligible, provided they furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria by September 30, 2011. Candidates who are unable to comply with this requirement may be asked to withdraw from the program. It is desired that candidates complete all academic requirements before joining the program to enable them to keep pace with the rigor and internal assessment schedule of the program.

As PhD is a research work so i don't think you will get any problem for doing it.

No doubt the marks 55% is good , but you can do PhD also.

You can take suggestion from your seniors as well as any professor under which you want to do PhD about the topics.

& i thing you have to kept in mind that your thesis should not be matched from any previous submitted thesis. And for this, only good & experienced professor can guide you very well.

you can do Phd without 55% in Post Graduation.

but it will be difficult for you to get chance in phd with low percentile.

but if you have source, then you can get chance in phd easily.

Dear Friend, the minimum percentage requirement for Ph.D is 55% aggregate marks in post-graduation.

So dear you are not eligible for Ph.D.
