Yes appearing for civil service exam is an option available for you. The qualifying exam is graduation. All candidates with any area of specialisation can apply. Those with even pass marks are allowed to apply. You can select the subjects based on engineering qualification to prepare for this exam.

Civil service exams are conducted every year by UPSC.
Civil services exam are based on the graduation level.
if you have completed your graduation with 55% marks and your age lies between 21-30 years then you are eligible for the civil service exams.

Why not , you are eligible to apply for this Civil Service examination because there is no percentage bar required for this examination . Minimum Qualification is possess a graduate degree from a recognized University . It is enough to appear for Civil Service Examination .

The candidate should have a minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination and relaxation is exits as per government rules .
Civil Service Examination can be divided into three stages :- 1)Preliminary (CSAT ) 2)Main 3)Personal Interview .

Preliminary examination can be divided into two papers and both the paper are objective type questions . This year preliminary notification was already released and next notification will be publish in the month of Feb or March .

Those who are clearing the preliminary exam , the candidates are called for Main examination . Main examination consist of nine paper and all the paper are descriptive type . In main examination , the candidate have to select two optional subjects from 23 subjects . This notification will be publish in the month of Sept or Oct in the official website .

Those who are clearing the Main exam , the candidates are called for Personal Interview . In the month of Feb or March and the results will publish in the month of April or May in the official website .

Yes you are eligible to apply for the civil service examination. The civil service examination is conducted by the Union Public Service commission every year. The eligibility criteria required for the civil service examination is given below:

Education Qualification
For the civil service examination a candidate should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university. Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for the civil service examination.
Candidates with professional and technical qualifications are also eligible to apply for the civil service examination.
Candidates who have passed the MBBS or medical examination are also eligible to apply for the civil service examination.

Age Limit
For the civil service examination a candidate age should be between 21 to 30 years. Relaxation in age is given to reserved category candidates as per the govt. rule.

i am a final year B.tech Computer science student, an aspirant of civil services but to be on safer side i have taken the placement from a company that visited my college so is it possible for me to prepare for civil services while doing a job also.. please help and which combination of optional subjects can i choose(or will be better for me)...

I Have passed my highschool from uttarakhand board,and i have passed 12th(visarad) from Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Prayag Allahabad.now i am doing B.A. from HNB university(UGC approved).
Is my 12th certificate legal or valid for Indian civil services?
