Yes you may take admission in a institution which is AICTE approved after completion of diploma of engineering from a UGC approved university.

You can take admission through lateral entry directly second year of engineering. For this you have to appear in lateral entry entrance examination. This is a state level examination. If you can clear this examination through counseling you can take admission directly in second year in AICTE approved institution. It will save your one year.

You may appear in engineering entrance examination like a 12th pass students to take admission in engineering in an AICTE approved institution. In that case your diploma will not be considered. If you have done 12th from science stream with subject physics, chemistry and mathematics then only you will be eligible for engineering entrance examination like AIEEE, IIT JEE and any other state level engineering entrance examination. Through engineering entrance examination you will be able to take admission in first year only.

After completion of your diploma first you should try to take admission through lateral entry. Appear in both the lateral entry examination as well as engineering entrance examination. Which result will be better take admission according to that with a good stream of your interest.

yes you can easily take admissions in AICTE approved by directly applying through lateral entries here by applying through you can save your one important year of your educations through this your engineering became only of 3 years yes you can apply.

Most of the private and government engineering institution has 10% of seat reserved for lateral entry.

sir, i have done diploma in ugc approved university. but i want to take admission in aicte approved college in my city. but in my city only have 2,3 college for btech IT Branch . and all of 3 in rtu(Rajasthan Techinical University)kota, rtu take admission only aicte approved university student for laternal ,entry.....so sir ,,,,want can i do ......my 3 year diploma year going to waste ............

There are many government and private college in India which offer B.Tech course for the diploma holder candidates. After completing the diploma course the B.Tech course is of duration of three years.

After completing the diploma course you can take admission in the direct second year of the B.Tech course through the lateral entry entrance examination.

So, don't worry you can definitely take admission in the AICTE approved University. Do preparation well for the lateral entry entrance examination.

Same Problem with me also there are lots of college in my city but they take only AICTE approved college ,,,,,they are not taking the candidates who are from only UGC approved University although I had also given the state level lateral joint exam (WBJELET) then also they are not taking.
