As per the list available in the Distance Education Council webpage http://www.ignou.ac.in/ignou/dec/recognition/recognitionstatus, the Karnatka State Open University is recognized upto 7th April, 2013.

However, if you see the home page of the KSOU http://ksoumysore.edu.in/index.html, you will notice that correspondences/show cause/notices, etc. are being exchanged between the DEC and KSOU. The bone of contention is about the KSOU starting BE level courses. The final outcome is not known.

Till things are clear, it is better not to risk one's career.

This is not to discredit the KSOU, but as a matter of abundant caution on the part of students to protect their long term interest.

Karnataka State Open University is approved by UGC but not approved by the AICTE.

That means there will be no value of any technical degree from this university.

So , i suggest you to pursue your B.Tech from some other university.

your letter from DEC 7833(08.04.2008) B.Tech. course is valid for five years from issue this letter so this validity is expire on date 07.04.2013, new admission after 07.04.2013 is valid or not valid and b.tech. degree after pass out is valid or not valid for new admission.
