for technical posts u need to have studied science in 12th class.
for other posts like seaman, i think the eligibility is 12th pass(any stream, any%) you can give the test but you may not recieve call for the next phase even if you pass the written exam.they pass on call letters to only high percentilers(around 60%).

HI!
I am sorry to say that you are not eligible for Merchant Navy after passing 12th with Arts stream.

Those candidate who pass 12th with physics, chemistry and maths with minimum 50% they are eligible for Merchant Navy.

You have other option like:-
> B.A
> B.B.A
> B.C.A
> B.A Animation
> L.L.B
> Hotel Management

Sir,i want to join merchant nevy .In X 86% and XII 75%.

Unfortunately it is not possible. Being a Arts stream student you can not apply for the job in Merchant Navy including deck cadet.

Only Science stream students are eligible for Merchant Navy. Arts and Commerce students have no opportunities therefore you will have to try your luck in some other field.

For deck cadet job the candidate has to clear 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Otherwise he/she can not apply for deck cadet. Those who have completed 12th with PCM can apply for job in companies.

Upon selection the candidate will be given 3 months long pre sea training after which the company will officially hire him/her.

The other option is to get officer level technical jobs. But these jobs require candidate to have following graduation degrees:-

B.Sc Nautical Science

Marine Engineering


Eligibility

1. 12th standard pass with PCM subjects.

2. Age limit is 20 years.

3. Up to 5 years relaxation for SC and ST.

4. Only unmarried candidates are eligible.

5. 6/6 vision, with no colorblindness. Candidate should not have sea sickness.

6. Must be able to pass medical test.


Other Engineering stream students who can also apply for the jobs are:-

Mechanical

Electrical

Technology


Such candidates can apply for jobs after completing 9 months long pre sea course in Marine Engineering from MERI.
