Since you say its the 1st semester of your graduation, you can apply for the clerical post in a bank. After completing your graduation you will also be eligible for the post of P.O.,but right now just the clerical post.

The exams for clerical post are held almost every year.
Sections you need to be good at for this exam are-
Mathematical Reasoning
Aptitude
General knowledge/Current affairs
English
Basic Computer knowledge.

I can say that if you go well prepared and have a good enough speed then this is not a difficult exam to crack...but go through the sample papers thoroughly.

Also there is a negative marking in this exam and all the questions are objective type.

You can apply for banking jobs after completing graduation. Graduates can apply for the profile of clerk in banks. Bachelor degree holders with a minimum of 60% marks can apply for P.O post. Upper age limit for P.O is 30 years. For clerk, the maximum age limit is 28 years. Now you can apply for P.O post through the web portal of IBPS.

It is not possible to apply for the banking exam if you are only in the first semester of Bachelor of Commerce. You will at least have to complete graduation else there is no way to apply.

Once you have completed the graduation you can apply for banking exams conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Services. It conducts IBPS Bank Clerk and IBPS Bank PO entrance exam on the yearly basis.

There are 19 Public Sector Banks that accepts the exams by Institute of Banking Personnel Services. The list of these banks is:-

Allahabad Bank

Andhra Bank

Bank of Baroda

Bank of Maharashtra

Bank of India

Central Bank of India

Canara Bank

Dena Bank

Corporation Bank

Indian Overseas Bank

Indian Bank

Punjab National Bank

Oriental Bank of Commerce

Syndicate Bank

Punjab & Sind Bank

United Bank of India

Union Bank of India

Vijaya Bank

UCO Bank

The IBPS Bank Clerk is conducted twice a year. First time in March and second time towards the end of the year. While the IBPS Bank PO is conducted in June. Although its not the rule. This year IBPS Bank PO will be conducted in September.

IBPS Exams Eligibility

1. You should be Indian national to apply.

2. Must have a bachelor's degree from recognized college.

3. There is no percentage criteria for both the exams.

4. You should have diploma or degree in Computers.
