Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary field that combines elements of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering. In general, the engineering graduates from Mechatronics branch are considered equivalent to Mechanical Engineering graduates for most engineering positions.

However, the eligibility criteria for Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) exams such as NTPC and BHEL can vary depending on the specific job role and the company's requirements. It is recommended to check the detailed eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification of the particular PSU exam that you are interested in.

In general, PSUs require candidates to have a full-time degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with a specific discipline mentioned in the advertisement. If the specific PSU exam's eligibility criteria do not exclude Mechatronics graduates from applying and if the job profile is aligned with the skills and knowledge of Mechatronics engineering, then you may be eligible to apply for the PSU exam.

Therefore, it is advisable to check the eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification of the PSU exams and verify your eligibility before applying.
