i am bcom student, i am not tall, Can I join into CBI? What is the exact height criteria to join CBI

Look, first you need to sit for the Combined Graduate Level Examination of Staff Selection Commission that is conducted by Government of India and need to clear all the 4 stages of the exam. However your height must be minimum 165cms and chest 76cms for the post of sub inspector. So the height may stand as a barrier to you.

The main physical standards that need to fulfilled by a candidates are as follows these are mainly of three categories

Height: 165 cms (for men), 150 cms (for women)
Height relaxable for Hill men and Tribals: 5 cms

Chest: 76 cms with expansion (There shall be no such requirement in case of female candidates)

Vision: Eye-sight (with or without glasses)
Distant vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
Near vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye.

these are all about basic eligibility criterion of the SSC entrance
for the physical fitness the candidates are tested in various way sby these board i.e.,

Physical test : walking 1600 meters in 15 min

cycling : 8 kms in 30 mins

you must definitely fill these requirements then only you are eligible for this post so do take care of this regard and opt for the post

To join CBI you have to take SSC exam which is conducted by UPSC every year

Eligibility for CBI::

You must be graduate with any stream from a recognized institute .
You should be between 20-25 years

Physical requirements::

For men :: your height should be minimum 165 cms
For women :: your height should be minimum 150 cms

Relaxation is given to SC/ST or reserved category students
For men ::your height should be minimum 160 cms
For women :: your height should be minimum 145 cms

Hii ,

first thing is that you are applied for the
CBI crime branch it is as tough as the miltry entrance so height matter for the selection
for Men: 165 cm and Female : 145 cm

What is the reasoning given for the requirement of minimum height for the CBI? Considering that even the FBI and other agencies do not have this standard anymore. Won't this be a hinderance for people who don't meet the height standard but very interested in the job?
