No, graduation is not compulsory for doing Chartered Accountancy Course.
One can start the course right after passing 12th or also appear the first stage with 12th board examination. Chartered Accountancy Course comprises of Competence Proficiency Test (CPT) Integrated Proficiency Competence Course (IPCC) Articled Training and Final Course. After 12th you can reister for CPT and after qualifying CPT, you can register for IPCC. After IPCC you are supposed to finish the Articled Training to be eligible for Final Course. Graduates just get an advantage of not appearing CPT and they can directly apply for IPCC but it doesn't mean that only graduates are eligible for the course. Visit the ICAI website to register for CPT. http://www.icai.org/ |

hi,
Yes you can go for CA.First of all you have to register yourself for CPT. COMMON PROFICIENCY TEST (CPT) is one paper of Four hours duration of 200 Marks divided in 4 section namely- Section A: Fundamentals of Accounting ( 60 Marks ) Section B: Mercantile Law ( 40 Marks ) Section C: General Economics ( 50 Marks ) Section D: Quantitative Aptitude ( 50 Marks ) As you belong to science background you should go for caoching for few months. Once you clear your CPT you can register yourself for IPCC.Its a 9 month course divided in two groups. You can appear the exams of both the group either together or one after another. After clearing your IPCC you need to go undergo 3 years practical training under a CA.By the time you also have to register yourself for the final level of CA. After clearing the final level and training you can become a CA. The detail syllabus for CPT and other important factors regarding CA course is attached to this post: You also visit the offical website of ca :www.icai.org for more detail information. |
