Re: Can a Psychologist is become a Psychiatrist?
To understand the answer of your question, you have to know the educational qualifications required to become Psychologist and Psychiatrist.
Educational Qualifications required to become Psychologist: >> Candidates should complete MBBS course. >> After obtaining MBBS degree, candidates need to do MD course in Psychology. >> Candidates can do Doctoral courses to become expert in the profession. >> After obtaining MD or Doctoral degree, candidates need to pass licensure exam to practice medicine. Educational Qualifications required to become a Psychiatrist: >> Candidates need to complete bachelor course in zoology or psychology or they can complete MBBS course. >> After completion of bachelor course, they need to do MD course in Psychology. >> After obtaining MD degree, they need to complete 4 years residency course. >> Then, they need to pass licensure exam to obtain license. So, if you have completed MD course, you can do the residential course of 4 years and pass the licensure test. Then, you are Psychiatrist. |
