Re: Civil services preliminary exam getting replaced by aptitude test?
Hi,
In my Opinion Preliminary examination is the good idea rather than Aptitude test. The main purpose of aptitude is to sort out some knowledgeable people for any organization , this techq. is widely used in Private companies were they have to choose some selected people from the group of people. In preliminary examination in UPSC or IES is required to find out the person sound mind rather than there own specialized field, this comprise genral knowledge, verbal quality, history, geography etc. After all you don't want a non eligible person for public Admin. services. |

Re: Civil services preliminary exam getting replaced by aptitude test?
if the preliminary exams gets replaced by aptitude i think it will become too easy,
in my opinion the present preliminary exam is the best way to select students, because for an technical post why do you require aptitude? the student should have technical knowledge that is enough |

Re: Civil services preliminary exam getting replaced by aptitude test?
According to UPSC, there would be two objective type papers for all the candidates. UPSC has put forward the proposal for aptitude tests so that the ability of the candidate for meeting the demands of civil service could be measured more efficiently. Te aptitude tests will also ensure that the decision making skills of the candidate on an ethical and moral level could also be measured.
UPSC has also plans for lowering the age of entry to the civil services. best of luck |

for this year the pattern remains unchanged for the civil service exams but it would definately be a good idea to do such a thing just stick to the previous question pattern for preparation all the best |
