Civil Services Geography Prelims Papers
The Union Public Services Commission conducts the Civil Services exam every year. The civil services exam is regarded as one of the most difficult as well as the most prestigious exam of the country. The candidates can select from a list of papers. Geography is one of the subjects. There are two phases of the exam- preliminary exam and main exam. Candidates who successfully clear the preliminary exam are eligible to sit for the mains. The details of the Geography paper are given below:
The exam is of a total of 300 marks and is of two hours. The number of questions in the paper is 120. The questions are all MCQs. All the questions carry equal marks, so marks carried by each question is 2.5. The questions are set to cover the entire syllabus of the subject. There are two versions of all the questions- English and Hindi. Of the four alternatives given to the questions, a single is correct. Candidates have to mark only one answer as more than one answer is treated as wrong answer. There is also a provision of negative marking. So students have to be careful while answering. Questions left unanswered are not considered wrong.
