Certainly, you can appear for IAS Exam. To become an IAS Officer, the selection procedure is as follows
-CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) -Civil Services Main Examination -Interview. The minimum academic qualification that one should have to possess to become eligible for Civil services preliminary exam is by having a graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. As per this criteria, you are eligible for IAS Exam as have scored 44% in your BA at graduation level. Even the canidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation are also eligible to apply for the exam. For this academic year 2011, Civil services preliminary exam was already over. Here I am providing you the important dates for upcoming civil services preliminary examination. -Date of commencement of notification : 04-02-2012 -Last date for the receipt of completed application forms : 05-03-2012 -Date of civil services exam : 20-05-2012. Hi
Yes definitely you are Eligible for IAS exam after BA with Economic. IAS means Indian Administrative Services and is basically meant for those aspiring candidates who have strong dedication towards the country. India holds a UPSC examination every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS officers are recruitment. Eligibility Criteria :- The minimum qualification required for appearing the competitive examination is Graduation. Many professionals like Engineers, Doctors, persons with Ph.d qualifications are competing for UPSC. Age Limit Age between 21-28 year and relaxation for lower cast. Application forms will come out in the month of January. Paper pattern has changed in IAS 2011 exam. Paper Pattern for IAS 2011 exam :- Unlike present,now there are two objective type papers carrying equal marks, in which 1) General-Studies paper carries 150 marks 2) Optional paper carries 150 marks. Yes,You can apply for the UPSC Exams (IAS).
Any Indian citizen of age group 21-35 can apply for the prestigious and challenging exam. There are basically 3 stages of evolution: 1.CSAT and Test on one of the optional and GS 2.Main Exam consist of Two combination paper,essay paper and GS 3.Interview Your academic background or qualification has no impacton your final result. All you need 'you have knowledge of something of everything and everything of something'. |

As for ias u have to appear for csat civil services aptitude test after that mains exam and followed by interview.as the eligibilty for it is graduation with any stream % does nt matter .age should be between 21 to 30 for general candidate.best of luck

Hi, sir.. I ve completed my B.Tech in IT with 70%.. but i have a small doubt.. I actually had failed in my 12th board exam and wrote it again to clear it.. will that be a problem to get selected in the exam and interview..? I am asking this because i ve heard people saying that 10th and 12th must be cleared in first class.. Is that true or its fine and i can go forward..?? plz assit me..

Yes, you can apply for IAS after BA with Economics with 44% marks as there is no requirement of any percentage of marks to apply for IAS.
IAS-INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer one has to appear and crack Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years. There is upper age relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST candidate and up to 3 years for OBC candidate. IAS Stands for Indian Administration Services and this examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year and to apply for this examination you have to complete your Graduate degree course from a recognised University, Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination. You have to cracked the Preliminary examination paper and Main examination Papers, only then you are eligible to appear for Final Interview for Final selection. Eligibility for IAS: Age limits : 21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relax able for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
