It is always very difficult to teach techniques that would help one crack the common admission test. However, students are always advised to read a lot of books and practice sample question papers to do remarkably well in the test.You can come across a number of CAT preparation books available in the market. Most of the books cover all the major aspects of the examination and also guide the students to score well.

Books for CAT Preparation
The three main sections of Common Admission Test are Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability and Quantitative Ability. There are quite a number of books available for the students to prepare all the three aspects of the competitive examination. In the following sections some basic CAT preparation books are suggested. However, students must note that the given list is not exhaustive.

Quantitative Ability: In order to do well in this section you need to practice High School Level Mathematics and certain chapters of higher secondary. You can purchase NCERT books of standards 9th to 12th for taking CAT preparation. O.P. Sinhal books are also recommended for students preparating for CAT.

you can prepare by your self for cat examfor this exam you have to work hardon your vocublary and reasioning and some mathematics. for these you can refer following books-
quantum cat,verbal and non verbal reasioning by r.s.agarwal also some study material of any coaching institute.
or if you want to join a coaching for this then time is best option for you.

I have joined I.M.S institute for the cat-2011 as i felt there will be more individual importance given here as all flood in T.I.M.E and very less turn up to I.M.S....Faculty will be same to both I.M.S and T.I.M.E because they travel to both institutes.

I.M.S or T.I.M.E.S it depends on you how hard you work So i can say both are better.......Only difference is in VA which is good in I.M.S also GD-PI is good in I.M.S But in T.I.M.E the DI is very good, the quant is same in both. When it comes to test series T.I.M.E has no competition, the Material is same in both But very Huge in T.I.M.E.
