IBPS Clerk Exam consists of questions from the following categories.
-Reasoning
-Quantitative Aptitude
-General Awareness
-General English
-Computer Knowledge.

There will be 50 questions from each section which will carry 50 marks. In order to get through the written exam, one has to qualify in each of the sections separately.

Generally for any bank exam, one need to secure a minimum of 40% of marks in each of the section. But as around 40 lakhs candidates have applied for IBPS Clerk Exam, the cut off will be more than 40%.

The cut off will be decided on the basis of number of candidates who have appeared for the exam and the difficulty level of the question paper.

There willl be negative marking for wrong answers. So, one need to be very careful with this.

Very soon this IBPS Clerk Exam is going to be conducted on 3 different dates.

The IBPS clerk exam exam is going to held on 27th nov2011.The total number of questions are 250 questions.For each wrong question 0.25 marks are considered as negative marks.
The paper consists of
1.Aptitude question and reasoning questions.
2.General awareness and english based questions.

The PASS percentage is 40%marks and 35% for reservation candidates.

the cutoff for ibps exam mainly goes about 40%marks for general and 35% for reservation candidates.

I've written the exam and expecting around 170 marks but didn't attempt one section completely. Does that mean I'll not be selected in any condition. Is there any chance that I get selected for this exam. Please reply me soon I'm tensed about. I was so happy expecting that I'll surely get the results in my favour. cut off: that is 20 marks each in all 5 subjects

but merit depends on performance of appeared candidates
highest will be something b/w 205-230

Those are :

=> Reasoning
=> General English
=> Quantitative Aptitude
=> General Awareness
=> Basic Computer Knowledge

You will have to score minimum 40% in each section to clear the exam

Each candidate should have passed in all the five sections.since, around 10 million candidates have been applied, there will be raising of cut off marks thats above 40% in each...suppose your left out section is ENGLISH, then you can relax..bcoz its optional only.....the main 3 is maths,reasoning and gk

you have to pass in each subject separately .if u get 50 out of 50 in reasoning and u get 10 in gk out of 50 u are not qualified in that exam. so u have to concentrate on every subject.u don't worry with in three months they release notification.
