It is depend on the university in which you apply for geologist admission.Some universities forms are already release .And some universities forms are available from feburary.So it is better for you to specify some particular university.

To become a Geologist,you should write the Geologist exam conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission).

For appearing for the Geologist exam you must have a age limit of 21-32 years and must have done a degree in:

Master's degree in Geology/Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized university

Diploma of Associate ship in Applied Geology of Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.

Master's degree in Mineral exploration from a recognized university.

Master's degree in Hydrogeology from a recognized university.

The candidates are selected through 2 stages:

Written test.
Interview for personality test.

Pattern:

Written exam Papers:

General English - 100 Marks
Duration - 2 hrs

Geology Paper-I - 200 Marks
Duration - 3 hrs

Geology Paper-II - 200 Marks
Duration - 3 hrs

Geology Paper-III - 200 Marks
Duration - 3 hrs

Hydrogeology - 200 Marks
Duration - 3 hrs

Candidates who pass the written test are eligible for the interview which is for 200 marks.
