UGC National Eligibilty Test for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lecturership
The University Grants Commission conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges twice in a year during the month of June and December.

Notification of NET Examination dates and Advertisement details along with proforma for application form, admit card & hall ticket and results, when declared are made available online on NET section on UGC website at thes link shown below:

UGC - NET EXAM 2011

IMPORTANT DATES :

-> Date of Examination - last week of December, 2011

-> Last Date of Applications - End of Sepetember, 2011


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :

-> Candidate must be a Post Graduate.

-> Age limit of 28 years maximum, relaxation for 33 years for SC/ST/PH/OBC

-> Candidate must have 55% above in PG degree from a reputed college

-> Relaxation of 50 % for SC/ST/PH/OBC


EXAMINATION PATTERN DETAILS

-> Exam given in three different papers as follows...

-> Paper 1 : 100 marks in 75 minutes - Questions on general awareness, research aptitude, reasoning etc.

-> Paper 2 : 50 questions in 75 minutes - subject chosen by the candidate

-> Paper 3 : 150 minutes questions will be subjective based on the selected subject by the candidate.
