what is the difference between 3 year mca and lateral entry mca(2 year)? and is there any disadvantage of studying lateral entry mca(2 year) comparing to 3 year mca?

If you join MCA after then BSc you must do 3 year MCA course.but if you join MCA after BCA then you con join lateral system and completing this in 2 years.extra one year you studied in bca.

You can complete PHd and settle in Teaching field Life will be safe and balanced. If you want to do rock and roll and you can join in any IT company and make your life hectic...

i hav completed my BCA and im workin right now.. i wanna do MCA in correspondence thru lateral entry(2yrs).. will ther be any problem?? .. will it be recognized the same way as it is recognized after completing it, without lateral entry(3yrs)????

A normal MCA course consists of 3 years
A Lateral entry course consists of two years, i.e the candidate who applies for lateral entry is admitted directly into the second year
A lateral entry admission is applicable only to the candidates who have passed their degree college exams in with the following courses
1. Bsc Information Technology
2. Bsc Computer Science
3. BCA

I want to study mca but I have many confusions ...mca lateral entry or 1st year... Which one is better....

Does the final merit list of MCA (after all the semesters )include the students from both lateral course and regular MCA course ? ,or there will be separate list of lateral and regular students ? . Because the aggregate of lateral students will be calculated on the basis of 4 semester and that of regular students on the basis of 6 semesters ,and it makes a huge difference in final results
