Concave mirror diverges the beam of light incident on it hence it is called diverging mirror
while convex mirror converges the beam of light incident on it hence it is called converging mirror

Shapes

-Concave mirror is curved inwards.
-Convex mirror is curved outwards.

Focal Point

It is the point where the beam of ray intersects after reflection or tend to intersect. It is located on the principal axis.
-The focal point of concave mirror is in front of the mirror.
-The focal point of convex mirror is behind the mirror

Image

-In convex mirror the image is always virtual, upright and smaller than the object
-In case of concave mirror different types of images are formed on different location of the object. The image is upside down (inverted) and far away but if we bring the object close to the mirror then image will be larger and upright.

Uses

Convex mirrors are used in cars (as passenger-side mirror since they provide upright and wide view), they are also used in camera phones, for safety measures there are also used in roads and driveways

Besides these convex mirrors are found in many hospitals, schools etc. as hallway safety mirror.

Concave mirrors are used in telescope. These are also used as make up and shaving mirrors since these provide larger images.
besides these concave mirrors are used by dentists and also used in headlights of cars, solar devices, satellite dishes etc.

& Concave mirror are normal mirror which are normally used for make up , for house purpose.

Difference between concave mirror and convex mirror :

The reflecting surface of the concave mirror's bulged inwards but the reflecting surface of the convex mirror is bulged outwards
Concave mirror produces real & inverted images but convex mirror always produces virtual & erect images

this image clearly shows the difference b/w concave and convex mirrors.

Concave mirror-----causes light rays to converge that is meet at a point after converging.

conacve mirror is curved inwards

reason of converging for concave mirrors-
since here where ever the object is placed the image either seen on right or left of mirror goes to converge or we see it converging.

convex mirror-----causes causes light rays to diverge that means spread apart and hence also known as diverging mirror.

convex mirror is curved outwards

reason of diverging nature for convex mirrors
since here where ever the object is placed the image either seen on right or left of mirror goes to diverge or we see it diverging.

Concave and convex mirrors are basically mirrors that are bent. It's sort of like if you were to take a mirror that's shaped like a ball, and cut off one side of it.

With a concave mirror, it's like you're looking at the mirror from what would be the inside of the ball, so it looks like the mirror is curving in towards you.

But with a convex mirror, it's like you're looking at the mirror from what would be the outside of the ball, so it curves away from you
