The difference for the respective groups are as follows:
Group1 :
It is for higher position jobs like DCP,Assistant Commissioner,Assistant Director of Rural Development department, etc.
Qualifications: Any graduate from recognized university.


Group 2:
It includes lower positions under the state government like Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, Sub-Registrar Grade –II , Municipal Commissioner, etc.
Qualification: Bachelor degree


Group 3:
It includes posts like Sterno typist, Security staff etc.
Qualification:minimum qualification 10+2 and above.


Group 4 : It includes posts like Junior assistant , typist etc.
Qualification:minimum qualification 10+2 and above.

There is difference in all the aspects like -
1. Qualifying exam pattern
2. Difficulty level
3. Eligibility criteria
4. Post/power offered
5. Salary
6. No. of vacancies (generally increases as we go down)

it has same difference as CLASS A,B,C,D officiers

they also varies in the income..
