Do I have to choose Aeronautical engineering to join Indian air force?
I am in 12th std which would be completed in april.i am in icse board- all saints nainital.i am from science background-maths as a subject.i want to join indian air force suggest me wat shud i do?which engineering option should i opt for?what about aeronautical engineering.reply soon.

Hi, Kalpesh Its not a mandatory requirement for joining IAF. But its an added advantage. IAF do conducts exams for hiring people from various disciplines ( not Aeronautical engineering alone). For example, they can hire electronics engineers for Ground station control room engineering, etc. Similarly for mechanical engineering graduates do have positions in IAF. So its upto you to decide which domain you want to work in IAF and to properly select the required course for that.

well dear friend, if you want to become a pilot in IAF then the best possible option for you is to go for NDA exam which is conducted twice in a year and its forms are available at the postoffices and if you want to be a technical officer in IAF then you can do your Btech from any stream and then apply for it after graduation.. as such aeronautical engg is not a compulsory one but if the field intrests you then you can obviously choose it.,. and after wards you can get into IAF...

yes buddy if you want to join
air force just apply for NDA 1&2 and you can get your desired field as you mention in the form ..... and for engineering you can go for aeronautic and if posts are available apply for air force filling UPSC forms...... ok best of luck have a good future take your own decision ......... |

yes, you can join ..but there are a lot of way to join the airforce..... you can join airforce through N D A ....so you can go through it.. but the better way is ..joining indian airforce after graduation... so go in this manner or do aeronautical engineering for joining airforce... so best of luck.. |

its not just aeronautical engineering which would get you into the IAF there are many other ways as well just keep an eye out for the application forms in newspapers.all the required criterion are suggested in it.you can also keep an eye on the internet which would surely help. wishing you best of luck |

yes definately you can choose Aeronautical engineering to join Indian air force, but you have to join IAF with the help of NDA entrance exams. After clear this exams you can join Indian air force........... ok all the best. |

not necessary to do aeronautical engg.. however it is necessary to do physics and maths at plus 2.. any field of graduation is acceptable...

You have the following options: Technical Branch As an officer in the Technical Branch, you would be in charge of some of the most sophisticated equipment in the world. You can apply for the Technical Branch via any of the two schemes listed below: Direct Entry Scheme After you have completed your engineering, you can join the Technical Branch through the Direct Entry Scheme. Both Men and Women can use this mode of entry to apply to the Indian Air Force. University Entry Scheme (UES) Direct Entry Scheme Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) & Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical) Permanent Commission (Men) / Short Service Commission (Men & Women) Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) Permanent / Short Service Commission As an Aeronautical Engineer in the Electronics stream, you will be responsible for the communication and signals required on the Air Force station. You will also be in charge of the execution of preventive maintenance and servicing of aircraft. With further in-service training, you could also move to the repair and overhaul divisions of the Indian Air Force. To join the Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) stream you must fulfil the following eligibility criteria: Age 18 to 28 years* Marital Status Single Nationality Indian Gender This is applicable to both men and women. it's not compulsary that you have to chose aeronotics,to join IAF,you should complete your graduation with min. 65% in any stream & you can take-CDS UES SSC, for more information visit-www.carrierairforce.nic

Hello, For joining Indian Air Force you should be a graduate with minimum 60% Marks, if you are Atrs graduate you can join branches such as administration,logistics,and education , B-Com graduate can join in Accounts branch and for joining Techenical branches you should be BE/B-Tech in mechenical or electrical or instrumentation or electronics or electronics&telecomminication or aeronautical or computer or information- technology Engineering. For flying branch you can go through NDA after 10+2 with subjects Physics ,maths and chemistry minmum 60% marks .For NDA exam you can appear in the same year you are appearing for 12th exams means before your 12th results you can appear. Well its good that you want to go fro air force.You can sit for NDA exam after 12 or ya you can even go for aeronautical engineering in your B.E.If you completed B.E then you can sit for CDS exam. |

for joining indian air force u just have to apply for NDA.. for that u just have to have class 12 result with minimum marks of 60% and the age limit is 16 to 19.. but since for these year NDA exams are over, you can try to do some related courses that will help u when u go for NDA... such as upsc exams... i hope these helps.. thank you |
