Re: Do we need to have Maths for B.Com?
Quote:
B.com is the 3 Year Undergraduate degree course and to apply for this course, you need to compete your Intermediate Examination with Commerce or any other stream. Those who study commerce in 12Th examination are eligible for B.com, But Non-Commerce candidates are also get admission in B.com, But they have to study one extra subject in B.com, Means you have to study "Basic Accounting" in your B.Com course. The admission are based on the entrance examination OR Merit basis. If you have scored good marks in your 12Th examination, then you will easily get admission in B.com course. But to get admission in top colleges, you have to cracked the entrance examination and the merit for top colleges was also goes high, so you have to scored more than 80 to 90% marks in your 12Th examination to get admission in Top Colleges. So, Maths is not compulsory to get admission in B.com, Only passed in graduation with minimum 45% marks is sufficient, But for admission in Top colleges, you have to scored good marks. Top B.Com Colleges - >> St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai >> Loyola College, Chennai >> Symbiosis, Pune >> St.Joseph’s College, Banglore >> Hindu College, Delhi >> Hans Raj College, Delhi >> Mount Carmel College, Banglore >> Sydenham College, Mumbai. |

Re: Do we need to have Maths for B.Com?
No maths is not compulsory to take admission in B.com, because b.com is a commerce course in which you will study Accounts, Marketing ,Laws and taxes. So no Maths is required in taking admission in B.com, But if you want to do MCA after completing B.com Then you should have Maths as one of your compulsory subjects in 12th.

Dear pal,
You need the basic knowledge in maths for all the course. the academic background required for the joining B.Com is pass in the 12th standard.Their is no necessity for you to choose maths in your 12th a standard. If you have chosen commerce it will be helpful for you in the due course During the course you need the maths knowledge. There is no entrance exam for the admission into the course. the course is available in most of the arts and science colleges. In B.Com also you have a large number of branch as in engineering. The admission to the course is based on the marks in the 12th exam. |

Re: Do we need to have Maths for B.Com?
No. Maths is not a necessary subject to have studied if you want to pursue a B.Com.
The minimum requirement for B.Com is that you must have studied Commerce stream or Science stream in your 10+2. But Science people mostly don't prefer changing their line. Now some subjects like Business Studies, Economics, Statistics etc are some of the other subject you must have studied in your 10+2. Therefore even if you have not studied Maths, still you can go for a B.Com course. Good luck ! |

Re: Do we need to have Maths for B.Com?
In order to pursue your b.com it is not necessary to have mathematics as your subject. You need to be having basic knowledge of accounting, that's it.
In fact even non commercial field students can opt for b.com. |
