Re: Difference between CA after 12th and CA after B.Com?
Hey Hi...
There are 3 levels in CA.. 1. CPT, 2. IPCC and 3. Final. If you have done B.Com with 55% marks then you get exception from giving CPT. U have to just give IPCC and Final. U must be thinking "Which one is good??": It depends. If you have already completed B.com then its good that u don't have to give CPT & u will take around 3&1/2-4 yrs to become CA. But If you are in 12th or in 1st yr of B.com then why to waste 2-3 years. Start as early as possible. U can become CA in 4&1/2 yrs. By the age of 21-23 So decide accordingly... www.etenca.in |

Re: Difference between CA after 12th and CA after B.Com?
There is no difference in the degree. Both will have same merit, if that is your major concerned. The notable difference is that after 12th you first need to clear Common Proficiency Test as part of Chartered Accountancy Course.
While graduates including B.Com degree holders, can take direct admission into IPCC which is second stage that comes after the Common Proficiency Test. So the difference is that after B.Com you don't need to clear CPT and yet get admission for the Chartered Accountancy Course. However to take advantage of this recent change by the ICAI, you will need 55 percent marks in B.Com while non-commerce graduates need 60 percent marks. Failing to meet this requirement would mean that you will have to clear the Common Proficiency Test. The other advantage of doing B.Com before Chartered Accountancy is that, having completed B.Com makes it little easy to cope with CA course, especially the final course which is considered to be extremely difficult. Common Proficiency Test 1. Fundamentals of Accountancy 2. Economics 3. Mercantile Law 4. Quantitative Aptitude The four subjects above are divided into 2 groups in CPT exam. You need to score minimum of 30 percent in each group to clear the exam. Integrated Professional Competancy Course Group 1 1. Accounting 2. Business Laws,Ethics and Communication 3. Cost Accounting and Financial Management 4. Taxation Group 2 5. Advanced Accounting 6. Auditing and Assurance 7. Information Technology and Strategic Management I have already mentioned that you can take admission for IPCC either after clearing CPT or if you have graduation degree then there is procedure to take direct admission. Final Course Group 1 1. Financial Reporting 2. Strategic Financial Management 3. Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics 4. Corporate and Allied Laws Group 2 5. Advanced Management Accounting 6. Information System control and Audit 7. Direct Tax Laws 8. indirect tax Laws |

Re: Difference between CA after 12th and CA after B.Com?
Hello,
I am a 12th grade student. I am interested in pursuing CA as my career so i have a few question- 1) Is maths important for clearing CPT,IPCC and the final exam ? 2) If not CA, is BCOM and MBA a good option because i am clearly confused. 3) What is the maximum number of years to finish the course if cleared in first attempt? 4)After completing the degree, is any other degree required? 5) What type of jobs can you get after doing CA? Thank you, i would appreciate an immeditate response as it is important for me to decide before December. I can be contacted via email- [email protected] |

Lets get practical, after 12th, CPT's exams are about to come in just 3 months i.e. june, this is the time when you will be tired of studying. so do u think u can manage it all and score "good" percent in CPT which is the foundation for CA. If u think you can, Hats off, go ahead but if you don't want to take any stress and study CA course in full satisfaction, option of joining IPCC after B.com if preferable. |
