KARNATAKA STATE OPEN UNIVERSITY(KSOU) was established on 1st June 1996 with the assent of H.E. Governor of Karnataka as a full fledged University in the academic year 1996 vide Government Notification No.ED 1 UOV 95 dated 12th February 1996(KSOU Act - 1992.

Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi, has accorded recognition to KSOU, Mysore for offering Programmes/Courses approved by the Statutory bodies of the University.

Karnataka State Open University is a regular member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi since 1999

Karnataka State Open University is a permanent member of Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), London, United Kingdom since 1999.

But KSOU is not approved by AICTE.

Nice to hear that you want to pursue M.Tech (Civil).

But i just want to tell you one thing that the Karnataka State Open University is not an AICTE approved university.

That means there will be no value of the degree (Technical) gained from the university.

It is recognized by the UGC and also approved by DEC only.

No.. Its not approved by AICTE.. however its been approved by UGC. So not having concern you can join the university.

I have completed Mechinical Engineering from this university with 65%. I would like to attend GRE and/or ILs and TOEFL for study MS in USA. Am I eligible for this ? Please help me and clarify.
