Eligibility to appear in CLAT for BCom graduate?


Hello Sir/Madam, I am a BCom graduate and now I am planning to appear in CLAT. I have heard that BCom holder are not eligible to appear CLAT. So, I just want to know about the eligibility criteria for me to apply.

CLAT is Common Law Admission Test and examination is conducted for admission in various courses.

Examination is conducted for admission in B.A LLB and LLM courses.

So, you are eligible to appear for B.A LLB after 12th from a recognised board. For more information visit at www.clat.ac.in.

CLAT is Common Law Admission Test and entrance examination is conducted for admission in the law courses.

The examination is conducted for admission in the B.A LLB or LLM course. The common eligibility to get admission in B.A LLB course is that candidate must have passed 12th from recognised board and for LLM course bachelor degree in LLB is the required qualification.

CLAT refers to Common Law Admission Test and it is a national level entrance examination held for offering admission in undergraduate degree course in law (i.e; LLB )or postgraduate degree course in law (i.e; LLM) across various NLUs ( National Law Universities ).

Further, for admission in LLB (Bachelor of Legislative Law) degree course, the minimum education required is a Class 12th in any discipline with at least 45% marks from a recognized board of education while for admission to LLM (Master of Legislative Law ) degree course is a LLB degree course with at least 50% marks from a recognized university. In each case marks relaxation of 5% is allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST or PH category.

So, being a B.Com graduate, you are eligible to appear in CLAT for admission in LLB degree.

Yes, you are eligible to appear for examination to get admission in Bachelor's course. Candidate passed 10+2 from any recognized board with 45% marks are eligible to appear for examination.

Maximum age limit to appear for examination is 20 years.

2. Candidate maximum age limit to appear for examination is 20 years.

3. Relaxation are available for reserved category.

So, yes you are eligible to appear in CLAT.

Being a B.Com degree holder, on the basis of your educational qualification you are eligible for appearing in CLAT ( Common Law Admission Test ) for getting admission in integrated LLB (i.e; B.A. LLB ) degree course of five years.

CLAT is held once every year by different NLUs following a rotation policy for admission in law degree courses across various NLUs.

The full form of CLAT is Common Law Admission Test.

Eligibility criteria for CLAT exam:

~~Minimum academic qualification required is 12th passed in any stream from a recognized board.

~~You must have at least 45% marks in 12th.

B.Com graduates if they meet above criteria can apply for exam.

You are eligible to appear in examination for admission in B.A LLB course.

It is five year course. You have to appear and qualify in CLAT examination. The minimum required qualification to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed 12th with minimum 45%.

So, you can appear for examination. After LLB qualification you will become eligible to appear in examination for admission in LLM course.

Eligibility to appear in CLAT for B.Com graduate are as follows:-
Candidate should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with at least 50% aggregate from a recognised board.
Candidate with compartments/Supplementary in any subjects in the qualifying examination will not be eligible.
There is no age bar for appearing in CLAT.

CLAT stands for Common Law Admission Test.

CLAT holds for exams for both undergraduate and post graduate courses.

For undergraduate courses-
12th pass with minimum 45 percent marks.
Maximum age to apply is up to 20 years.

For post graduated courses
LLB or equivalent bachelors degree from a recognised university with minimum 55 percent marks and for SC/ST is minimum 50 percent.
