Eligibility criteria for Karanataka CET for admission in MBBS ?
Respected Sir,
My self & Mywife are from Karnataka (Belgaum and Karwar respectively) we both studied in Karnataka University (Dharwad) upto degree level. My daughter shruti chavan studing in Kalyan(Maharashtra) 10+2, is she eligible to appear for KARNATAKA CET-2011 entrance for medical Admission. Your daughter is eligible for Karanataka CET for MBBS admission.
The eligibility criteria for Karanataka CET for MBBS is passed 10+2 or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with atleast 50% aggregate marks in PCB. (40% for ST/SC/OBC). Those who are appering class 12th in 2011 can also apply and the age between 17 to 25 as on 31st December 2011. all the best. |

According to your question parents of the candidate have studied in Karnataka but you didn't make it clear that whether you(anyone of you two) are a Karnataka domiciled or not. There is huge clause for this eligibility criteria which depends on many things like the kind of job your job, (Central Govt. or State Govt. or Defense Service or Private job) Whether you are local language speaker etc . Therefore, it would be better if you yourself visit the Karnataka CET brochure of last year. The brochure is attached with this message. Find it into the attachments. To be eligible for the govt. seats your daughter has to satisfy the following criteria: 1.Your daughter should have studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognised educational institutions located in the State of Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN academic years commencing from 1 std to 2 PUC / 12 standard as on 1 July of the year in which the Entrance Test is held and must have appeared and passed either SSLC / 10 standard or 2 PUC / 12 standard examination from Karnataka State. 2.Parent's mother tongue should be Kannada, Tulu or Kodava and either of parents reside in the state of Karnataka, such candidate should have passed the qualifying examination from a University or Board or any other Institution located outside Karnataka and should be residing outside the State of Karnataka as on 1st July of 2010. Provided that the candidate shall undergo a Kannada Language test conducted by KEA. 3.A candidate whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu or Kodava should have resided and studied for a period of SEVEN YEARS between 1 and 12 standards in disputed Kannada speaking area of South Sholapur or Akkalkot or Jath or Gadhinglaj Taluks of Maharashtra State or Kasargod or Hosadurga Taluks of Kerala State. Provided that the candidate shall undergo a Kannada Language test conducted by KEA. My mother belongs to karnataka and she studed up to graduation in karnataka. I am appearing for 12th board exam in Maharashtra state in 2012. I want to appear for cet for the purpose of admission in MBBS. Is there any quota for children for admission in MBBS whose parents belongs karnataka.

i'm from tamilnadu. is i'm eligible for karnataka CET??? i have done my schooling only in tamilnadu and now i'm doing engineering in govt.college in tamilnadu. i have finished my 10 2 in 2011..........................
