Re: Eligibility criteria for National Medical Entrance Exam(NEET)?
Quote:
NEET stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. If you are seeking admission to MBBS/BDS courses then you can give this qualifying exam. NEET has come as a replacement for AIPMT and other similar Under Graduate level Medical Entrance Examinations. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the NEET exam. It is a single stage exam and the exam is a paper-based test. This year the exam conducted on 5th May. To appear for this exam you need to pass class 12 board exam with not less than 50% of marks in physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology taken together. It does not matters if you had mathematics at 10+2 level. Even if you didnt have you would still be eligible to sit for the NEET Exam. Apart from securing the marks mentioned above you also have to ensure pass marks in English subject. Even final year students who are about to sit for their qualifying exam or waiting for the results to come out can also sit for this exam. The minimum age limit for appearing for this exam is 17 years. For candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota seats, the upper age limit is 25 years and there is no upper age limit for candidates appearing in the NEET for State Quota seats. In addition to that there is five years age relaxation for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes. In the written exam objective questions will be mainly asked and there will be four options for every question. All total 180 questions will be asked from the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). There will be negative marking too. Answers needs to be given by using Blue/Black Ball Point Pen only. Hope this helps :-> :-> |
