I am studying MSc(energy science) in university and I completed my UG (physics) degree earlier. Some peoples told this is a cross major so, you will not be eligible for NET CSIR examination. Public sector directly recruit freshers and qualified B.E/ B.tech engineers / diploma /ITI Apprentices , Chartered accountant etc on part/full or contractual basis.

You can also go for GATE preparation
Through NET exam also , you can enter into public sector

There are university degrees dedicated to renewable energy however masters, apprentices or additional qualification suffice.
An energy engineer needs a bachelor's degree in engineering in order to enter the field.
Additional training is recommended to students to gain skills and experience.
