The eligibility for MBA from IIMS is you must have a bachlor degree from a recognised university.Your age is must under 27yr.You can take admission in this college through the CAT or GMAT.You must gain at the least cutoff for this college.

Re: Eligibility for MBA in IIMSs after B.Tech with backlogs?
Hello,
If you are planning to get through a good B-School, then make one thing clear, 'BACKLOGS' will get you nowhere. Though you may appear for an entrance exam, and get a good percentile but then no B-School will give you admission because of your backlogs. So best option for you is give yourself one year, clear your backlogs and simultaneously prepare for the entrance examinations. Then you may get through a good B-school hopefully. Good Luck! |

Re: Eligibility for MBA in IIMSs after B.Tech with backlogs?
You mean to say that "Am I eligible for CAT exam with backlogs"
Fortunately you are eligible. One guy in IIM Calcutta had backlogs before joining but he cleared them at that moment itself. If you have a backlog till 6th semester then its not an issue but if you get a backlog in 7th and 8th sem then you will be having a hard time clearing them. Although there is a rule by IIMs that you have to submit the certificates by December. So if you are able to clear the subjects before the deadline then definitely you are eligible |

Re: Eligibility for MBA in IIMs after B.Tech with backlogs?
You can apply with your backlogs in b.tech but at the time of joining you must have cleared your backlogs .so you are now eligible but try to clear your backlogs before joining. there are some example who have cleared their backlogs and now studying there.
If you have a backlog till 6th semester ,then its not a matter of fact but if you have backlogs in your crucial 7th and 8th sem ,then you will have to face a lot of problem . so,try to clear your backlogs as soon as possible because with backlogs you will not be allowed to take admission . |

Re: Eligibility for MBA in IIMs after B.Tech with backlogs?
first of all you are eligible to write for the entrance but you have to clear the backlog after you have clear the exam and you have to produce the pass certificate at the time of admission.
So try to clear the backlog at the end of your semester and you can do it. Rock the exam and do well. Have a fantastic career. regards, yash |

Re: Eligibility for MBA in IIMs after B.Tech with backlogs?
Dear friend,
To be very frank i want to say that if you are scoring 50% or more than that after completion of BE then you can appear in CAT. If you are scoring 99 + percentile than you can hope to get addmission in IIM'S. All the best.......... |

Re: Eligibility for MBA in IIMs after B.Tech with backlogs?
Of course even a person with backlogs can take admission in
IIMs But you need to clear your backlogs before admission. People in their final year of graduation can take admission in IIMs through CAT or GMAT. However the IIM interviews are a tough nut to crack and you need to have a good explanation about why you have got these backlogs. Be confident and provide a reasonable explanation |

Re: Eligibility for MBA in IIMs after B.Tech with backlogs?
Quote:
First , it depends on how many backlogs you have. Second , Do you have them even after completing your Bachelor's degree? Third, Do you have more than 75% aggregate, leaving aside your backlogs? If I take first case, if you are carrying 1 or 2 backlogs that too before completing your degree you have moderate amount of chances to enter IIM. But you should have the cut-off percentile to get call from IIMs. If you have 3 or 4 backlogs, it is very hard to enter IIMs as they want excellent academic record. This is the criteria they are following recently. They are lloking for a good education background. If I take the second case, then you are not eligible to apply for CAT exam as you are not a degree holder. So you need to complete them first and then try.For this instance, you need to have good marks percentage and you must be in a position why you failed in those exams during your interview. And coming to third case, if you have cut-off percentile to get call from IIMs you need to search for a better reason why you had backlogs. If it is a matter of 1 or 2 no need to worry. again if you had 3 or 4 backlogs then you need to be careful while giving answers to the board. moreover it depends on other factors also like work experience, comunicatin skills, achievments etc. All The Best Vega Sridhar |

I think you are eligible to apply for the MBA examination if you are clearing the backlogs before the 8 semester and then it is not take any effect . But best suggestion is first clear your backlogs then apply for this examination then only you can face any problems . And this year CAT exam last date of submission of application was already closed . So you can not apply for the CAT exam now . Let see the details of CAT Exam :: CAT Stands for Common Admission Test and this examination is conducted by Indian Institute of Management Once in a year . This exam is conducts for admission to MBA course in the IIM Institutions . IIM is best institution for MBA Course in our country and it is not easy to get admission in IIM . You can have to clear the exams in various level and there is heavy competition . Without proper preparation you can not crack this examination . CAT Eligibility Criteria :: Minimum Academic Qualification required for this examination is that candidate should having the degree course from a reputed institution or equivalent qualification . Candidate must secure at least 50% aggregate marks in your examination and 45% aggregate marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates . Final year candidate may also eligible to apply .
