i am the topper of sophia collage,ajmer. I want to take admission in jnu..and want to pursue my ma in geography.

Could you please send me the prospectus of jnu in ma georraphy..giving every detail of entrance exam of ma geography, including last 5 years entrance exam papers, entrance exam syllabus,its date of examination.

The Masters course offered by Jawaharlal Nehru Institute shall cover various concepts with emphasis laid on the various problems faced in the country. In order to appear for the entrance it is important to clear the Bachelors course. There are two parts to the entrance test. The first being the objective test covering general principles of geography. The second being theory paper covering the areas like principles in human geography, climatology, oceanography, topography etc. Details of the areas covered are available in the official site of JNU.

Eligibility criteria:

For M.Phil/PhD candidates needs to have M.Sc.

Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Genetics, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Physics, Physiology, Zoology, other allied subjects, disciplines of Agricultural Science or MBBS degree.

For Msc. Life Sciences candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree with atleast 55% aggregate marks inBiological, Physical or Agricultural Sciences/B.Tech.

Application Forms:

The candidates can earn the application form through three different steps, namely, direct payment of the cash at the cashier officer at the University itself, through cheque and even through collection of post.

Candidates can get the application form either directly or by post from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Those obtaining it by post should send a request for it accompanied with a demand draft and a self addressed envelope.

The candidates have to forward a requisite letter along with a Demand Draft. The candidates also have to provide the registration number at the top part of the letter, along with a specimen of their signature at the back side of the Demand Draft.

Important Dates:

Date of Entrance Examination: 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th May, 2010

Availability of Application Forms: 1st February, 2010-5th March(By Post) & 15th March(By Hand), 2010

Last Date for receipt of completed application forms: 15th March, 2010

Interviews: July 1st week, 2010

Selection procedure:

Candidates are first shortlisted through a written test. Those who clear the written test are later called for interviews after which the final selection is done.

In JNU, the MA Geography course shall encompass all aspects of topography, modern geography, population studies, resource geography etc. Application Forms:

You can get the application form by
