The study about the earth, its features and other phenomena is called as Geography. There are numerous colleges in our country that provides students with graduate as well as postgraduate courses in Geography. Career Prospects

There are many career prospects available for students of Geography. According to their field of specialty, candidates can get employed as forest managers in economic or agricultural institutes. It is also possible for them work as Demographers with the government as well as in institutes of research. Agencies of the Central government may also take in students for intelligence work and mapping in addition to remote sensing interpretation. Alternatives to these are - transportation planning, social services, solid-waste disposal systems and tourism and travel planning. Those who like teaching can pursue a job in teaching too.  Students of this field will have an initial remuneration of Rs. 9,000 - 15,000 a month. With more experience in a particular field, candidates will be able to earn more.
