Hi, I wish to apply for joining Indian Navy. So, which entrance exam do I need to write for this? Can you please provide details of that entrance like syllabus, question pattern, subjects/topics to study, marking scheme and passing criteria. And, is there Mathematics related question also?

To join Indian Navy you should have passed 10 + 2 with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as main subject from a recognised board and after that you have to appear in NDA examination.

NDA exam 2020 pattern:

This exam is organised in the month of April and September.

The exam will be conducted through offline mode.

The duration of the examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes and question paper will be e objective type.

The exam consists of two papers that is mathematics in general ability and total marks will be 900.

There is negative marking for every incorrect response.

After clearing the written test, candidates have to go through the interview and the process will have 900 marks.

Mathematics portion will consists of 300 marks, 200 marks for general ability 400 marks for general knowledge.

Entrance exam is NDA that is conducted by UPSC twice in a year in the month of April and September.

Syllabus of NDA

Syllabus of NDA exam is divided into two sections that is mathematics and general ability.

Mathematics consists of trigonometry, differential calculus, integral calculus and differential equations analytical geometry of two and three dimensions, probability, algebra, vector algebra etc.

General ability
This is Section comprises of two parts that is part A and part B.
A contains topics like English vocabulary and grammar and usage, comprehension and Cohesion in extended text to test the candidates proficiency in English.

Part B comprises of different topics from general knowledge, Chemistry, Physics, general science, history, geography and current events.


Pattern of NDA

Question paper will be of objective type consisting of 900 marks.

There is negative marking of 0.33 marks for every wrong answer.

There will be interview after clearing the written test.

Question paper of mathematics and part B of general ability test will be available in both English and Hindi languages.

Entrance exam to write to join Indian Navy:-

Two of these exams:-
Combined Defence Services Exam, National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Exam are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). While UPSC conducts the written exam, the interviews are conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).
Marking scheme:-
+1 for each correct answer.
Negative marking - one fourth marks will be deducted for the each incorrect
answer.
Paper sections - 04 sections that is English, science, Mathematics and general knowledge.
Passing criteria to join Indian Navy:-
Those candidates who have passed 12th or equivalent exam from a government recognised or university with minimum 70% aggregate in physics, chemistry and maths and at least 50% marks in class 10 or 12th.
