I ve completed my b.tech(information tecnology)..im 21 and looking for government jobs.can u prescribe what jobs i can apply for and suggest me good opinion abt searching jobs..

As a Btech student (information technology), you may write Engineering Services Exam conducted by UPSC.
The minnimum educational qualification for writing the examination is a degree in engineering or equivallent, from a recognised university.
Engineering Services Exam is conducted by UPSC for four categories of engineering for its respective degree/diploma holder i.e. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical engineering and Electronics and Telecommunication engineering.
The minimum eligible age is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years.

The best way to find governemet jobs is "Employement News". There you can find and select several government jobs of your choice and expertise.
Apart from this, there are many websites where you can find similar advertisements of government jobs. Visiting such sites regularly will really be helpful to find a job.

Govt jobs are not just like; submitting resume, getting call for interview and getting your offer letter.
The most fantastic jobs in India are IES and DRDO as per your qualification.
Every year IES and DRDO(the exam for DRDO entry is known as SET Scientist Entry Test) exam do happen on all India level.
Apart from that there use to be vacancy in other public sectors also but there is no pattern in all the sectors to conduct recruitment process.
All you can do prepare for the two leading govt jobs and also keep watching EMPLOYMENT NEWS weekly so that as soon as you get to know about some vacancy of your choice you can apply.

you can give the exam of the upsc for the IAS,CDS for getting in to the Indian army/airforce/navy.
you can give the exam of the different public sector exam,such as Indian railways.

Each year, UPSC conducts IES(Indian Engg. SErvices) exam for which also Last date of receipt of application is 5.7.2010 at present and exam is scheduled in December.

You can find suitable jobs at National Informatics Centre

Read Employment News regularly also log on UPSC website to locate and apply for suitable jobs.

As you have already completed your b.tech in IT you can go for different govt sectors for getting jobs such as :
1) Banks like : Punjab National Bank(PNB),SBI,ICICI BANK etc.
2) you can try for Life Insurance Corporation Of India jobs.
3) Others govt sectors like : SAMEER, Sashastra Seema Bal,Garden Reach
Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd etc.

For Btech in IT govt jobs are available but in less number the jobs are available in NIC, JTO, Banking sector, railway,.

In IT field jobs are small in number like Jto, NIC, HPCL.

the students of cse and IT cannot appear for IES exam.......btech, or mtech on those stream should apply for bank,rail,LIC,NIC,GIC etc......bank p.o is the better option for those candidates....but the core streams(ee,ece,mech,che) can also apply for IES under UPSC or Civil service exam,....ece is best for BSNL junior telecom officers(JTO) exam....best of luck for gov. job exams...

Well there are very few government sectors jobs for computer science and IT students of engineering.
The govt. jobs for CSE/IT branch will be- Indian Railway, Banks, Govt. lectureship, food corporation of india, DRDO, BSNL, ISRO, BARC, and few civil services conducted by upsc.

I'm a b.tech Pursuing student in Information Technology(passout year-2011) field, can any one say which exam i can attend..

But you should have these following criteria :

The pattern for written tests conducted by indian railway or banking:

1) quantitaive aptitude
2)reasoning ability
3)general awareness
4)verbal

Books like shakuntala devi, R.s .agarwal are availabe for Quant,verbal and reasoning.
For general awareness better read the newspaper daily.
