Dear aspirant,

-Notifications for NET exam will come in december . Exact date is never decided but it will come in december . You have to keep visiting the site.

-For NET exam you should be post graduate in any discipline from a UGC recognised university.

-You can apply for NET exam online now through UGC website and pay your fee online.

-You have to choose the subject of your post graduation to apply for NET exam. You will be asked questions from what you have studied in your graduation and post graduation.

-There will be a objective type paper and good news is that it has no negative marking.

-If you qualify this exam then you will be eligible for lecturership in UGC recognised university.

-NET score will also help you in future studies if you want to to doctorate in that subjects.

BEST OF LUCK.....

You need to have post graduation degree to apply for National Eligibility Test. This is a test which is conducted twice by University Grants Commission for candidates interested in PhD and College Lectureship.

Since you have got the post graduation degree, feel free to apply for the National Eligibility Test if you also meet the percentage criteria. The exam is conducted in June and December. Unfortunately you can not apply for the 2012 exam as the last date for submission of the form has passed.

You will be able to apply next year in June for the exam. Till then you should continue to prepare for the exam. NET is not a easy exam to pass as you may think. Therefore a lot of effort has to be put in to clear the exam.

Eligibility

1. Only Indian Nationals can apply.

2. A post graduation degree in any stream.

3. At least 55 percent marks.

4. SC/ST candidates need 50 percent marks.

5. Final year students of master degree may also apply.

6. However these candidates should submit their degree within 2 years of clearing NET.

7. Your master degree course would determine NET subject.

8. There is no limit on number of attempts.

Age Limit

1. The age limit for JRF is 28 years.

2. There is no upper age limit for Lectureship.

How To Apply

You can only apply for the NET Exam via online. Please visit the www.ugcnetonline.in website and download the Bank Challan Performa.

You will have to take this Bank Challan Performa to any branch of State Bank of India and submit the fee to appear for the exam.

In the next step you will need scanned copy of passport size photo in JPEG format and the Copy of Bank Challan (fee receipt).

Once again visit the UGC Website and submit the admission form online. Upon successful submission you should take two copies of admission form, one copy of Attendance Slip and admission card.

Send these printouts to the Registrar of the University (UGC Test Centre) before the date mentioned in the notification.

Please visit the following link for more details - http://ugcnetonline.in/how_to_apply.php
