I am B.com (c.a) 1st year student. And i am interested in CA.HOW TO APPLY FOR CA?and CPT exam date for this year.please reply

C.A. stands for the Charted Accountant and only the institute of Charted Accountant is responsible for the study of this course in India and to get the admission in this course the eligibility for a candidate is -

>> Candidate to be a 12th passed out candidate in Commerce with Mathematics, Economics and Accountancy and after it he can go for the C.P.T. entrance exam for the admission in C.A.

But as you are a graduate appearing candidate so you don,t need necessary to go for the C.P.T. because you can also get the admission in C.A. after graduation through I.P.C.C. this is the entrance exam for the C.A. after graduation so you have to concentrate now on Graduation and then after graduation apply for I.P.C.C.

There are three levels in CA course namely

>>CPT
>>IPCC
>>Final

CPT is entry level exam for C.A course. Only 12th completed candidates with any stream can register for this.

IPCC is applicable for CPT passed candidates and graduates as well.

Since, you are B.Com, you can directly go for IPCC without CPT.

See, for CA you need to enroll for Executive level of Chartered Accountancy course provided that you carry at least 50% marks in your graduation. The list of the centers s available on the official website of the CA i.e.

Discussing about the CA course, so it has got 3 levels which a candidate needs to clear to become a CA. Those three stages in CA are-

- Common Proficiency Test(CPT)
- IPCC ( 2 GROUPS)
- Final examination

The subjects in Executive level are-

1. Accounting
2. Law, Ethics and Communication
3. Cost Accounting and Financial Management
4. Taxation
5. Advanced Accounting
6. Auditing and Assurance
7. Information Technology and Strategic Management


As far as the duration is concerned, for graduates it is 2.5 YEARS minimum. The fee of Chartered Accountancy course - 40000/-

CPT (Common proffiency test) is the entry level course and like entrance exam

The CPT exam is held twice a every year in the month june and december

cost of application form is 100 /-

and CPT registration fee is 6000/-

Attested copy of class 10th pass certificate

and also intermediate pass certificate .
