First of all you should have complete knowledge of the designation he wants. If you want to be an IPS officer you should know the job profile and other things related to the designation. You have to appear for Civil service exam. There are two stages: Preliminary and Main. You must study eight subjects thoroughly which are of high importance Mental Ability, Economy, Political Science, Science, Current Affairs, Geography, History and General Knowledge. Keep yourself updated with current affairs by listening to the news and reading newspapers. Read books like Competition Success, political and business magazines. Try to solve previous years question papers. Appear for test series in your coaching centre. Prepare list of Formulae and tips for ready reference.

Re: How BCA students should prepare for IPS exam?
Hi,
Firstly i would like to say that you made a right decision by choosing to write this exam. For this exam you will have two papers.1st one is general studies where you need to study books like current events, Indian history of India, global and Indian geography, Indian economics and politics and for the second paper you need to write for optional Subject where each candidate has to choose one subject from a wide list and prepare for it. This optional subject depends on the type of job that he or she wants to take as an IAS officer. One can choose anything from animal husbandry to philosophy, from law to political science therefore the choice is in your hand. |
