I want to become an astronaut but I do not know whether what to do after 12?

Hello friend,

You have not mentioned in which stream you have completed your 12th.

To become an astronaut there are some particular steps that you must follow in your career path.

You should pass 10(+2) with science subjects i.e maths,physics,chemistry as main subjects and get good marks in average.

Knowledge in physics is a very important requirement to become an astronaut. You can join B.Sc course in physics or astrophysics.

After your graduation, continue with higher studies in space physics.

Keeping these things in mind,you can step forward in the way of becoming an astronaut.

If you want to become an Astronaut, then please complete your graduation first, Because to become an Astronaut, A candidate have done graduation from the recognized university.

If you want to become a Pilot Astronaut, then you must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in engineering, biological science, physical science or mathematics.

And you must also clear the NASA physical entrance examinations -

Height - between 64 and 76 inches

Distant visual acuity - 20/50 or better uncorrected correctable to 20/20, each eye.

Blood pressure - 140/90 measured in sitting position.


So, if you really want to become an Astronaut, then please appear in the ISRO entrance exams and if you have clear this exams you will get admission in IIST and then you get a chance to become an Astronaut.

requirement to become a astronaut-
1.graduation degree in engineering, biological science,physical science or mathematics.
2.1000 hours experience in air craft
3.ability to pass NASA space physical
4.height and blood pressure.

you want to become a astronaut then you should first clear ISRO exams, take graduation in recognized college and NASA every year put up a international exam.

1)how to become an Astronaut after 12th?

*India Institute of Space Research and Technology,will conduct the exam for ISAT in the following field

-->B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering
-->B.Tech. in Avionics
-->B.Tech. in Physical Sciences

After finished this B.Tech you will get a good change in ISRO ,SRLS and so on,if you do any higher studies in Aerospace with good project, you can also selected in NASA

*you may also appear for IIT-JEE,TNPC Exam

if you want to become an astronaut then first of all u have to have a bachelor's degree that you should be a graduate and then .....
if you pass certain physical eligibility criteria and the entrance at the NASA or ISRO ...
then only you can become an astronaut......

Dear student to became an Astronaut the minimum qualification required

is Graduate. So first you complete your graduation then apply for ISRO

enterence exam to get admission in IIST. After complition of IIST you can

became Astronaut.

Sir I have passed 12th class with science stream and because of my some weakness in 11th class I Have not succeeded in IIST, IIT , and AIEEE exam but I really want to become an astronaut to explore this universe . How could I get out of this trouble(as my family economical condition is not so better that they could admit me in any private institution)too.
