hi dear aspirant...
you can directly visit any CA institute to take the course...
its little harder to complete CA from corresponce..
so you must spend all your time towards Chartered accountancy course.
any one can do the CA course..
mainly MEC and MPC background students are gaining this..
first you have clear the entrance test i.e CPT(common profieciency test)
you should get minimum 100 marks out of 200 marks..
so we should score more than 50%
then you will step into the IPCC i.e, just like second year..
in that course you will be having two groups group A and group B
in that subjects you must maintain 60% in all the subjects otherwise you can maintain 60% in overall the marks..
then after finals..(articleship)its nothing but you have to work near any chartered accountant as an assistant for few months ..you will get paid for the aricleship monthly.
after that you have to attend for the final test ..
if you pass in that you are the chartered accountant there,,
this is all gonna happen in the span of 4years..
so to become a CA minimum it will take 4 years

all the best ..

Dear,

Both CA and B.Tech are very good courses.there is no sence of CA after comleting B.Tech degree.you B.Tech degree will waste if you join CA after engineering.

I will not give you advice to join CA after engineering you have to think again for your decision. engineering is very good degree course there are so much job apportunity available for engineering student in government and private sector.

There is no link between CA and B.Tech. both courses are very different courses.if you are intrested in further education then you can go for higer education in engineering line. in engineering so much higher degree courses are available.

I will give advice think again about your decision if you join CA course your engineering degree will wasted you can get job in any single degree not in both degree.

I will not recommend you to apply for Chartered Accountancy course. You have completed Engineering. It is much better to appear for entrance exams like Indian Engineering Services. You can also apply for job in Public Sector Undertaking.

The number of opportunities in even greater in private sector. If interested in continuing studies then Master of Technology is best option which is followed by Master of Business Administration. Both the courses are 2 years long which is well short of the time it will take you to complete Chartered Accountancy.

However if you are still interested, here is what you need to do.

The first step depends on how much marks you obtained in Bachelor of Technology. If you scored 60 percent or above then directly take admission for the IPCC. However if scored less than 60 percent than you will have to clear Common Proficiency Test.

The Common Proficiency Test is the first stage of Chartered Accountancy course. Commerce graduates need 55 percent marks and non commerce graduate need 60 percent marks to skip it.

There are basically four subjects in the Common Proficiency Test. They are divided into two groups. Unless you have scored at least 30 percent marks in each of the two groups, it is not possible to clear the Common Proficiency Test.

1. Fundamentals of Accountancy

2. Economics

3. Mercantile Law

4. Quantitative Aptitude

IPCC is the next step after CPT exam. After 9 months of study you can appear for the first group of IPCC. Then you will have to start the 3 years long articleship during which you will clear the second stage of IPCC.

When 6 months are left to complete articleship, you can appear for the Final Examination.

if you are a person who is more oriented to making money / enterpreneur you should consider learning what ever you can.. but in the mean while be careful that you plan and work it right .. consider your past mistakes even the way you worked out your last 10 days and then if you find that you are a person who gets things done irrespective of complexity and desire to do it naturally you are good match to take a step ... for other who want to work under some body else its recommended to be careful as nothing is simple you will have to wait for 3-4 years to complete this deal...

If you have a Btech with a major(s) in accounting/auditing/ taxation you can do a a bridging course. After you have received your Bridging Certificate inAccounting Theory you may than be eligible for an honors in commerce (accounting/ auditin/ taxation). You do your training contract for the required time, take your board exams and, if all goes well you become a CA. This can be done in South Africa. I don't know about other countries.

I have done 3 years diploma after 10th and AMIE, presently working as Junior Engineer for Indian Railways. I wish to pursue CA, not for job. Scored 58 percentile in AMIE. Is it possible for me to register for CA?
