Re: How to do MBA after completing B.Tech in ECE with 63% marks
In order to pursue MBA From a good college especially IIMs, you need to take the Common Admission Test(CAT).
High percentile in CAT will lead you to IIM. The eligibility for giving CAT is that you should be a graduate and should be having a minimum of 50% marks in graduation and 45% marks if you belong to sc st category. The more exams for other good colleges are XAT- for XLRI, Jamshedpur SNAP- for symbiosis university Pune. The main score is the score of CAT, Therefore it is compulsory to perform well in common Admission test for the better college in order to pursue MBA. |

Re: How to do MBA after completing B.Tech in ECE with 63% marks
Since you have completed B.Tech in Electronics and Communications I don't think MBA is the right way forward for you. It would be better to apply for the job right now. Your percentage is very good for a decent job in private or government sector.
In private sector, IT should be your first priority. You can definitely find a good job in Infosys. This company hires more electronics and communication engineers than any other company in India. Apart from that you also have good chance of job in TCS and Wipro. But your academic performance should be good to get the job. You must have scored 60 percent marks in 10th, 12th and B.Tech for a job in these IT companies. If you meet this criteria then I don't see the reason for doing MBA, instead you should apply for the job in IT sector. In government sector, Indian Engineering Service is something you can apply for. This is a entrance exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission which takes place once in a year. Since you have completed Electronics and Communications you are eligible for IES. This exam is conducted for jobs in various government departments. Eligibility 1. IES is only for Indian candidates. 2. A B.Tech degree from recognized university. 3. There is no percentage issue. 4. Age limit is 21 to 30 years. 5. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC. 6. upto 5 years relaxation for SC/ST. Another good option would be Public Sector Undertaking. This is also an option if interested in government job. The companies conduct their separate entrance exam. Electronics and Communication Engineers can apply for various PSU companies. Eligibility 1. B.Tech degree from a recognized college. 2. At least 60 percent marks in the course. 3. A valid GATE score. 4. Age limit is 21 to 30 years. 5. three years relaxation for OBC. 6. five years relaxation for SC/ST. If you still want to do MBA then I would suggest MBA in IT. Although you are free to choose other streams that you find interesting. For MBA admission you will have to appear for entrance exam. Considering your percentage Common Admission Test seems to be the best option. If you want admission in best MBA colleges in India then Common Admission Test is must. You can appear for that if completed graduation with 50 percent marks. |

Re: How to do MBA after completing B.Tech in ECE with 63% marks
Hi dear..
You could not only go for MBA , but a good choice will be to for M.Tech or M.S. M.S. is costly if done without any scholarship, so, preferably, M.Tech will be better if you are from a Middle Class family. For M.Tech You need to crack GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) conducted by IITs. For MBA There are various Entrances you can give, but the most popular, and which most of the colleges accept is CAT (Common Aptitude Test) The eligibility for CAT is as follows :- > Applicant should have at least 50% marks. > You as a B.Tech Graduate can apply. There are various other Entrances for MBA. I have listed some of them below :- >SNAP >CMAT > XAT > MAT Etc. All the best..!! Regards Sammy |

Re: How to do MBA after completing B.Tech in ECE with 63% marks
It is good that you have completed your B.Tech in ECE with 62% of marks. This has been a good performance from your side.
Soon after the completion of this course, my suggestion would be to look for the job opportunities. There will be several PSUs that are recruiting Electrical Engineers every year like IOCL BSNL BHEL NTPC etc. You will be given good salaries if you got placed in any of these companies. After joining in the Job, you can do MBA course in distance learning. If you are unable to get a top job after your Graduation, then I suggest you to opt for MBA course in regular mode. Popular Entrance Exams that give admission for MBA course are CAT MAT GMAT etc. Try to get admission for this course in B-Schools so that you will be having good career scope. The following specializations will be good choice for you in MBA course. MBA in Operations Management MBA in Logistics Management MBA in Retail Management MBA in Systems Management MBA in Information Technology Have good preparation for the Entrance Exam and crack it. Wish you all the best. |
