How to get application forms for Karnataka CET and it's fees? Is NATA compulsory for Architecture? How to obtain it's form and what is it's syllabus?


1) When will be application forms will be available for CET Exams and what is the fee to be paid for the Karnataka CET test for the year 2011 ( for entry to BE courses in karnataka state ).

2) For Architecture NATA Test compulsary. How to obtain application form to sit for the exams of NATA and what are the syllabus to be studies.

KARNATAKA CET EXAM 2011:

Availability of Application forms:
The forms for Karnataka CET will be available in schools and colleges of the Karnataka CET. For those residing outside Karnataka the form can be obtained by post from KEA by sending a Demand Draft along with the request for form.

Important Dates:
Date of Entrance Examination: last week of April, 2011
Last Date for Availability of Application Forms from schools/colleges: 2nd week of March, 2011
Last Date for Availability of Application Forms by post: 2nd week of April, 2011

NATA Application / Registration Form
NATA is offered as a paper based + computer based test.
  • The NATA Pre-Registration form is available for download at website http://www.nata.in The same is also available at all the Test Centers. We suggest – Filling up the form online and taking print out with you to the test centre.
  • Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Register well in advance to get the candidate’s preferred test date.
Approach the Test Center located at college / school of Architecture at a location convenient to the candidate with the documents listed below and test fees.
  • Fill up and submit the form
  • Pay the fees through Demand Draft.
  • Get the online registration form filled
  • Get receipt cum appointment voucher with date and time from the Test Center.

NATA Syllabus
The test is in two parts. A paper based drawing test for two hours and computer based online aesthetic sensitivity test for one hour.
The test measures aptitude of the candidate through two sections – a paper based section for drawing and computer based section for aesthetic sensitivity.
Drawing Test
This is a two hour paper where candidate has to attempt two questions. One of the questions has two sub questions.The drawing aptitude is judged on the following aspects -
  • Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner.
  • Visualising and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundings.
  • Sense of perspective drawing.
  • Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form.
  • Creating interesting two dimensional composition using given shapes and forms.
  • Creating visual harmony using colours in given composition.
  • Understanding of scale and proportions.
  • Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences.
Aesthetic Sensitivity Test
This is computer based test of one hour where candidate has to answer 40 multiple choice questions.
The aesthetic sensitivity test measures perception, imagination and observation, creativity and communication
along with architectural awareness and comprises of -
  • Visualising three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings.
  • Visualising different sides of three dimensional objects.
  • Indentifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities.
  • Analytical reasoning.
  • Mental Ability.
  • Imaginative comprehension and expression.
  • Architectural awareness.

Can anybody tell me what is the examination fees? and if it should be in the form of DD, then what shouldbe the payable address?

Rs. 650/- for general
Rs. 500/- SC and ST

Payable to "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore.
