I am a b.tech mechanical student with 60% marks,i want a govt job ,so plz tel me what can i do for the govt job?

There are couple of options for you. The first option would be to apply for the Indian Engineering Service entrance exam. You can apply for this exam during final year of B.Tech course or after completing the graduation.

There are few hundred jobs in various government departments that are offered through Indian Engineering Service. These departments have different expertise. To apply for the Indian Engineering Service, you must meet the following criteria.


IES Eligibility

1. It is open for Indian nationals only.

2. B.Tech degree is required to appear for it.

3. There is no percentage criteria.

4. Your age should be 21 to 30 years as on August 1 of examination year.

5. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC.

6. SC/ST candidates are eligible for 5 years relaxation.


The other option is Public Sector Undertaking. You can apply for PSU because of scoring 60 percent marks in Bachelor of Technology. PSU is term for company which is controlled by the government.

The procedure is that candidate will go through written test following by interview. However the pattern has been changed by some PSUs who prefer the candidate to provide the GATE score.


Eligibility

1. B.Tech should be completed from valid university.

2. 60 percent or more marks in the course.

3. You should have cleared all pending backlogs.

4. You should clear the GATE entrance exam.

5. Age limit is 21 to 30 years for the exam.

6. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC.

7. Five years relaxation for SC/ST.

You can join to engineering services by qualifying UPSC ESE exam. If you can qualify GATE, you can apply for a job in PSU. In banks, you can join as P.O or Specialist Officer. Section Officer jobs in railways are suitable. You can also apply for matching jobs in state transport corporations.
