Re: How to get a job after completing B.Tech? What should we develop in ourselves to get the best job?
It may seems a problem for those who are looking to get job in IT when already so many years have passed. But still there is a way out.
So what is the way out? So does companies allow that much of a gap? Not all all. But there are so many small scale companies who look for talented people and skilled people to work with them and they don’t have the budget to hire people out of MNCs. Now you think from your perspective that there is not enough jobs, but from a small company point of view, if you see they think there are’t enough skilled and talented people out there who can help their company. So just think from their point of view, what can make them interested in you. You will get some answers from within you. So what can make you beneficial to those companies even after 4 or 5 years gap is: Job ready professional: No company wants to take chances with people who are already having some shortcomings. So be job ready and not just have basic knowledge. That will never help you. Certification from any institute will not help. You have be job ready. Enhance your knowledge/skills to industry level. That is the only way out. But how to do that? That is the big question. Well connect to IT guys and seek their help and ask them to provide you with real time projects/scenarios. This way you can learn maximum in minimum time. Also money spend will be most fruitful as you get personal attention and you improves on day to day interaction. I am also involved with guiding people with gap yrs and giving them internships. Beware of the Hype: See there is a difference between trends and hype. Hype is created by marketing companies who just want to make some bucks out of you. So beware of the hype, ask lots of question from lots of people. Don’t get influenced by any one, not even me. You have to take charge of your stuff. So don’t depend on others for deciding on your behalf. Take your decision on your own. So what is the biggest hype now a days? May be ‘Data Science’ or ‘Big Data/Hadoop’? Must read- Now answer me from where you have heard of these things? From your friends? Or some seniors ? Do you think they themselves have not heard from someone? Everyone has heard something from someone and passing the information. So who knows what is the hype and what is the actual truth. Lots of people know. But they don’t have time and the platform to raise your voice and opinion. If you search ‘Big Data’ or ‘Data Science’ on Google, you are bombarded with so many ads and blogs which make you believe that it is the thing to do in this time. Understand the trends: So what is trending now a days. A lot of things. Like: AWS Python ReactJs Machine Learning NLP Angular .NET Core Spark and Scala Apache Kafka Tableau And some more. But the things is that different technologies required different level of talent/ logical ability. So in ‘machine learning’ you require lots of mathematical accumen. In ‘ReactJs’ it is quite complex to master it, it needs lots of patience/hard work to master it. But then you will earn more also. So every technologies have its pros and cons. Don’t get swept away by the marketing. Think over it. Take advice from people who are successful into IT and have clarity about jobs/demand. |
