Hello,
It is good that you wish to go for higher studies and that too in MBA. MBA is a business oriented genre and is very popular among both employers and employees. For MBA there are certain eligibility criteria, if you qualify them, you will be entered in the MBA program. These are:
1) You need minimum 50% or more in your graduation. The graduation can be from any discipline but it has to b degree course and never in a diploma format. Now since you are from B.Tech. it is quite evident that you are not from a diploma course. Also definitely you have score more than 50%, since you are from the B.tech. or engineering genre.
2)Next you must go for the well accepted MBA common entrance examinations like CAT or MAT or XAT or OPENMAT or SNAP etc. Whichever institute you apply will accept one or the other or more than one MBA CET score. So according to the institute you want to join, please sit for the respective CET and clear it.
3)After you clear the CET and apply for the institute, you will be called for an interview, if you are shortlisted. If you clear that too, you will be selected.
Now since you are interested in the marketing genre you can best go for MBA in marketing. Also you can with MBA in media.

Although I do not recommend MBA after B.Tech but since your interest is more towards marketing, it would make sense for you to do MBA in IT. This would lead to more of a managerial role for you in the company rather than software developer.

For you to get admission in MBA, there is a requirement to first appear for some entrance exam. To get admission you must appear for one of the MBA entrance exams mentioned below:

CAT

MAT

IRMA

IIFT

SNAP

IBSAT

NMAT

XAT

There are some of the entrance exams for MBA admission. Your first priority should be CAT which is known as Common Admission Test. The best B-Schools in India, that are known as Indian Institute of Management offer admission through Common Admission Test.

Eligibility

1. A graduation degree in any stream.

2. At least 50 percent marks in graduation.

3. SC/ST candidates need 45 percent marks.

If you do not meet the criteria for Common Admission Test, then it would make sense to appear for MAT entrance exam. MAT stands for Management Aptitude Test. Since there is no percentage criteria for MAT, any candidate with a graduation degree can apply for it.

It is conducted four times in a year. I must once again point out that your first priority should be CAT followed by Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT). Only if you fail to make it through these two, consider the option of MAT.
