To become a Chartered Accountant (CA) you have to appear in below given exam.

Process:

CPT
PCC
Final exam.

Which any candidate who has passed 12th from a recognized Institute can register for the course.First you have to Qualifiy the CPT (Common Proficiency Test).
A candidate is eligible to register for the CPT after 10th standard but can appear at the examination only after appearing in the 12th examinations.

Procedure to Become an Chartered Accountant

>> Pass CPT examination

>> Register/Enroll for Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC)

>>Complete 9 months of Study Course.

>> Complete 100 hours of Information Technology Training (ITT).

>> Complete Orientation Course (35 hours spread over one week).

>> Pass Group I or both Groups of Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE).

>> Register as Articled Assistant for a period of 3 years.

>> Pass Group II of IPCC if not already passed.

>> Appear in Final Examination during last 6 months of 3 years of articled training.

>> Pass both the Groups of Final examination.

>> Get Final Examination Certificate.

>> Complete remaining period of articled training, if applicable

>> Complete Course on General Management and Communication Skill

>> Enroll as a member of ICAI and designate as "Chartered Accountant"

• You cannot write CA entrance after 10th but can write after 12th.
• Contact your nearest CA chapter for syllabus and exam dates.
• After you complete your 12th standard you can write the entrance exam and on successful completion, you can start preparing yourself for the inter exam.
• By the time you finish off your graduation, you have to write CPT test which is held every 4 months. After passing this test you can become a CA.
• Along with CA, ICWAI and CS courses's entrances also can be written after 12th. I know a few people who did complete all the three along with their graduation and have become financial professionals.

If you have passed the 12th standard then the next step will be to clear Common Proficiency Test. The CPT test is the first stage of the Chartered Accountancy course.

You should have completed 12th to appear for the Common Proficiency Test. The percentage and subjects in 12th does not matter. This exam is conducted in June and December of every year.

There are four subjects in the Common Proficiency Test:

1. Fundamentals of Accountancy

2. Economics

3. Mercantile Law

4. Quantitative Aptitude

These subjects will be in 2 groups during the Common Proficiency Test. You should be able to score 30 percent marks in each group to clear the Common Proficiency Test and move forward to the second stage called IPC.

IPC course is the second stage and there are two groups of 7 subjects in it. Along with the IPC course you will be doing the mandatory 3 years articleship. You can appear for the first group of IPC after 9 months.

3. Cost Accounting and Financial Management

4. Taxation

During the articleship you will complete the second group of IPC course.

Group 2

5. Advanced Accounting
6. Auditing and Assurance
7. Information Technology and Strategic Management


Once 6 or less months are left to complete articleship, you can appear for the Final examination.

Basically there are mainly three entrance examination of entering in the CA course.

CA-CPT.
CA-IPCC.
CA-FINALS.


All of these examination is conducted by the ICAI every year..However you have to first register your self for appearing in this examination.You can also register your self
This examination is conducted by the ICAI every year twice.
If we talk about the IPCC examination.So this examination is done for those students who have completed successfully their CPT entrance test.For this you have to also do the graduation course.And after successfully cracking IPCC examination you can be eligible for CA-Finals examination.

CPT

• Entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course.

PCC

• This is the stage of the chartered accountancy curriculum after CPT wherein

and also completion of 15 months of articled training three months prior

Final Exam

• Held twice every year in the months of May and November.
  
• It comprises of two groups. Candidate can appear for groups / group I / group

• you have have passed the Intermediate/ PE-II Examination.
  
• you have have obtained Final Course registration number.
