You can join indian army through NDA only .For this exam you must passed 10 +2.You must clear this for joining indian army.NDA exams are held twice in a year in april and in december.There is no other way to join indian army.

There are many ways to join Indian army after completing your 12th in Science stream(PCM Background).There are various exams conducted after 12th but the type of exam varies from post to post i.e from Officer's to the soldier(rank to rank).

If you want to see your self as an Officer then its better that you go through NDA exam conducted by the UPSC board.Since you have an aggregate above 70% hence you can definitely go through the exam.
You can even go through the SSB board which is of a short term service(14 years).The service can later be expanded based upon your interest.

There are various exams conducted for recruitment of rank of soldier like Indian Army Soldier General Duty,Indian Army Soldier Technical Exam,Indian Army Soldiers Clerk / Store Keeper,Indian Army Havildar Education..etc.

Its better that you complete your graduation course preferably B.Tech so that you can get entry in Indian army through the following schemes like CDS(Indian Military Academy),Indian Army Engineering Graduate Exam and Short Service Commission(SSC).

After 12th, you can apply for NDA or the NAtional Defence Academy.They have 300 vacancies each time of which 196 is for the army.

*Your age must be between 16.5-19 years to be eligible.
*You must be un-married.

*Notification will come in Employment News and leading Daily news Paper by Mar and Oct Notified by UPSC.

*Courses are held twice a year, In January and April.

*Application to be Received by 10-15 Nov for Jan Course and 10-15 Apr for Jul Course.

*Likely SSB Dates are Sep to Oct and Jan to Apr.

*Date Commencement of Trg is Jan and July.

*Training Academy is NDA , Khadakwasla, Pune.

*Duration of Trg is 3 Yrs at NDA and 1 Yrs at IMA .

First of all, Congrats to you for your get results. Even if you are from a science stream, you are eligible to join Indian Army.
After 10+2, you should write NDA exam conducted by UPSC twice every year.
This exam have two sections:
1. general - Consist of english, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography,
GK, current affairs, etc (600 marks)
2. Maths- 300 marks.

--you should be 12th pass....ie. should be at-least 17yrs old.....
--so try for it when you cross 17th or your 12th standard board exams....

]--) you can......
1)join it as an sipahi after completing your 10th.
2) write the NDA exam after 12th and can become an officer .
3) write the CDS exam after completing your diploma or degree.

In India, army is the most important part of defence.

To join Indian Army you have to fight Civil Defence Services exams i.e. CDS and NDA exams.

Both CDS and NDA exams are conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

Procedure to Join Indian Army - ( 5 Stages )
1. Written test,
2. Physical tests,
3. Medical tests,
4. Group tests and
5. Personal Interview.


Educational Eligibility For Indian Army - A candidate pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Maths with minimum 50 % aggregate marks from a regonised board.

Age Eligibility For Indian Army - 16 Years to 21 Years.

Physical Eligibility For Indian Army - A candidate should be physically and mentally fit.

1. Eye Sight = 6/6,
2. Height = 167 cms,
3. Weight: 50 Kg

I have secured 87.5% marks in 10th CBSE Board exam. I now wish to apply for 10 2 PCM (Tech) Entry to IMA Dehradun. However my 12th Board Exam is in March 2012. As the course starts in July 2012, I shall have my result of 12th class by then. Presently I qualify as per the age criterion also. But the on-line form demands the result of class 12th. So is there any way that I can apply now? (My application can be discarded if I secure below70%).

How To Join Indian Army After 12th

In order to join the Indian Army after 12th..you need to appear in the National Defense Academy (NDA) exam which takes place twice a year in the months of April and August

Eligibility Criteria :-

1) You should be a 12th pass-out in any stream

2) You should be in the age limit of 16.5-19 years

Apart from these you should have good physical heath and should have a perfect eyesight..

first,you have to clear the written exam..then the interview and then the medical exam..

You can join Indian Army as Soldier and Clerk with that of your percentage in 10th and 12th exams. You can also join Army under Technical Quota Entry Scheme as you offered Science in 12th standard. You have a huge advantage of joining Indian Army. Refer to daily newspapers for the advertisement of such posts in Army.
